Fairy Healthy Life

I love to cook healthy and look for new ways to add to my new healthy lifestyle

Am I ready?

On Saturday, we didn’t have any plans so we decided to take the girls to the Licon Dairy Farm in San Elizario, Texas. It is about a 20 minute drive from us. It’s nice to get out of the city sometimes. I also love it because they have a little playground and a small petting zoo for the girls. All for free. Smile

It was such a nice day out.

Amani was more eager than Chloe to touch the animals.

I even had a good time myself. I might look ridiculous, but the smiles on their faces are so worth it.

We couldn’t leave without buying their famous asadero cheese. Buying local pays off. I didn’t pay more than $8.00 for both.

Sunday morning, I set out for a 7-mile run. I had no idea how it would go since I missed last weeks run. I hadn’t had any pain this week in my knee, so I was pretty optimistic.

I was feeling really good! It was a fresh morning out with a little bit of wind. I’m a normally cold person so I took a light jacket with me. After 2 miles and the sun starting to rise, I was uncomfortably warm. My plan was to pass my house and throw my jacket on the inside of my gate without opening it. I don’t know how, but I threw it on the roof! My strength training must be working!! Winking smile

This run was going to determine if I would be entering a 10k race next weekend. My shoes felt good and I felt good. So I think that’s a yes. And why not, it’s only $25.00.

I’m so glad I keep track of my runs on my phone app. In August, I ran the same 7 miles with an average pace of 11:15. On today’s run my pace was 9:56! It’s so important to just focus on your own progress.

Split Times

Mile 1: 9:59 min/mi

Mile 2: 9:57 min/mi

Mile 3: 10:19 min/mi

Mile 4: 9:25 min/mi

Mile 5: 9:32 min/mi

Mile 6: 9:58 min/mi

Mile 7: 9:42 min/mi
