Best Friends Forever
This weekend I was focused on getting rid of this cold once and for all. But of course, and still have fun. We didn’t have anything really planned as a family.
I made some vegetable soup for lunch on Saturday afternoon. I paired mine with a honey blonde ale. Ever since we went to California, I’ve been trying to find one that I really like just like the one from The Yard House. I think I came pretty close with this one. My search shall continue though. ![]()
That evening, I actually went out! It’s pretty exciting for me to go out by myself because it is so rare. It was my best friend Johanna’s birthday. We have been best friends since Kindergarten. I love her like my own sister. Friends that you have for most of your life are the ones that are the most meaningful and true.
She chose to celebrate at a local sushi restaurant. This was such a great idea because the owners are the nicest business owners I’ve ever met. The freshest and best sushi in El Paso. I also had the best margaritas ever from her moms boyfriend. I think I might have to steal her idea for my birthday! It was nice to get out, even though it was only for a few hours.
On sunday, I knew I would be able to sleep in a little before my run because it was so gloomy and raining the day before. I really had to force myself up though. I just wanted to stay in bed. I knew I would regret it if I did once I got up. So I rushed myself to get ready before my brain knew what I was doing. I needed this run because I didn’t want to get into a routine of not exercising because I was sick. One week can turn into two, then into a month. I will not let that happen. Only I can motivate myself. No one else.
How tired and sick do I look?
I ended up running 4 miles. Of course nothing compared to last weeks 10 miles. I just wanted to kill this cold! It’s so frustrating. I needed to sweat. It felt good to move again.
Mile 1: 11:59 min/mi
Mile 2: 10:17 min/mi
Mile 3: 11:06 min/mi
Mile 4: 10:48 min/mi

Thank You!!
So glad you had the opportunity to get out and hang with your BFF!! I am so proud of you for completeing your run on Sunday. I have let myself fall into the habit of not working out because I feel sick, and then not returning for weeks. Way to go girl
I know that feeling all to well! I made sure that was not happening. I can’t wait to hear about your race!
Hope you’re feeling better.
