July Foodie Pen Pals: Part 1
Unfortunately, my foodie pen pal package Allison sent me got lost in the mail. We were both upset to realize this. I felt very, very bad that she took time out to choose items just for me, pay for them, pay to send them and for all that to go down the drain. I told her she didn’t have to send another package. But she insisted. What a sweet girl.
Thank you Lindsay for putting this great program together. I have made countless friends.
So until I receive my package, I will share with you what I sent to Haley. Usually the blogger who I sent the package to would share it on their own blog. But since Haley doesn’t have a blog she she is sharing it on here! Thank you Haley for doing so.
“This was my first month as a part of Foodie Pen Pal’s and I couldn’t have been more pleased! Farrah sent me some amazing items, and the majority of the items were things I’ve never tried before. When I opened the box and started pulling things out, it seemed like it was never ending.
She sent me quinoa pasta (super excited to try!), spicy tortilla soup mix (waiting for the weather to cool off some before I try this one), two amazing Ritter Sport chocolate squares (!!), almond water (which I have yet to try), a jar of Mediterranean sandwich spread (I’ll probably pair this with the pasta), Justin’s honey peanut butter (perfect for traveling), and my absolutely hands down favorite item Cinnamon Somersaults crackers! I tried these as soon as I pulled them from the box and collapsed in bliss. Imagine little bite-sized nutty, seedy, crunchy, cinnamon-y, deliciousness made with all natural ingredients. Needless to say, I’m completely hooked. Before I even finished chewing my first piece, I googled where I could possibly buy them, considering the bag would only last me about a week, if that. Luckily, I found a couple stores nearby that sell them. Phew!
Thank you so much, Farrah! I’m so glad I got paired with you as my first Foodie Pen Pal!
–Haley”
Because of Haley’s great review of the Somersaults, I decided to buy some for myself. This time I purchased the single serve packets. Which is good because I would have eaten more than one serving size. They are delicious. Haley described them perfectly.
I hope you will subscribe or come back here to see, what I’m sure will be, the fabulous package Allison has sent me! I can’t wait!
To become a part of foodie pen pals,
-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions. -You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal! -The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination! -You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!) -Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month. -Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.
If you’re interested in participating for August, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.
You must submit your information by August 4th as pairings will be emailed on August 5th! You will receive a confirmation email from me within 24 hours if you sign up. IF YOU DON’T GET ONE, send me an email!
