Do you still struggle with eating unhealthy food?
I do. I mean, who doesn’t. In the world we live in there are so many temptations out there and very easy to come by. That is why I prefer to make my own treats. But when I go out, once in a while I’ll have just a small bite of someone’s my girls’ dessert. It’s all about control.
Being such a busy mom, how do you fit exercise in to your daily life?
I make it a priority. Planning my meals and workouts before the beginning of the week helps to keep me organized and accountable. If I don’t exercise I become moody and believe me no one wants a moody mommy!
How do you stay so motivated?
Losing weight did not come easy for me. I don’t know if it has for anybody. I took it day by day. I didn’t tell anyone I was trying to lose weight; I didn’t want it thrown back in my face if I failed. But when you take it one workout or meal at a time, your hard work will pay off and eventually you will see results. That, in itself is very motivating. Let friends and family pay you compliment. You might still have a long way to go, but recognize your hard work!
Did you hire a personal trainer to help you lose weight?
I probably should have, but I didn’t. I taught myself everything I know. I read a lot of fitness magazines. I tweaked workouts to my fitness level. I increased the length of my workouts and resistance every week so I could keep seeing results.
Do you follow a specific diet?
When I first started, I followed the eat-clean diet strictly for 2 years. I still follow the basic principles. But I am a little more lenient on myself. My favorite is The Eat-Clean Diet: Recharged.
What camera do you use?
I use a Nikon Coolpix P500. When I’m out, I use my phone camera which is a Motorola Droid Razr.
