Fairy Healthy Life

I love to cook healthy and look for new ways to add to my new healthy lifestyle

September Foodie Pen Pals Reveal

It’s time for another foodie pen pal reveal! For the month of September, I was paired up with Lorraine from Just One Cupcake! I love the blog name and the first thing she said wrote in her first e-mail to me was that she loves my name. Sweet! She also asked me a few very specific questions so she can make me a package that I would love. I’m so glad she did this because sometimes I have a hard time describing what I like when I have no idea what kind of shop or stores they have in their community. I will ask more specific questions to my next foodie pen pal too. And for future reference, if you have a Trader Joe’s near you, I love anything from there since I don’t have one near me! Smile

FPP-newpost

Thank you Lindsay for another great month! I am loving the new design!! :)

Lorraine really took her time to try to figure out what I would want.

013

And what I wanted was baked goods!

015

Even though the mail-man threw them around a little, I was able to salvage a few. It’s a good thing she didn’t frost them or else they could have been worse.

020

You should be proud of this recipe Lorraine. I’m not one to love cupcakes, but these were delicious! Just like a pumpkin muffin. I’m sure I’ll be making these a few times this fall!

021

I think I was a little too excited about the cupcakes because I didn’t take a picture of anything else. Bad blogger. But she also sent her sugar and spiced cookies that were so soft. They tasted just like gingerbread. I loved all of the spices she used. I like using those spices all year-long, but more so starting in October. Lorraine also sent me some nut butters and vegan marshmallows (never tried them before), which I can never have too much of! Thanks so much Lorraine! Amani really loved those marshmallows. Smile

I sent a package to Christine from Christines Quiet Spot! Check out her blog to see what I sent her!

Want to be a foodie pen pal? It’s not only for bloggers!

Here’s a detailed explanation of the program:

-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
- Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!

***If you’re in the UK, please contact Carol Anne from This Is Rock Salt at rocksalt@thisisrocksalt.com to get involved!

If you’re interested in participating for September, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.

You must submit your information by October 4th as pairings will be emailed on October 5th!

*If you’re from somewhere besides the US, Canada or Europe and want to participate, send me an email and I’ll see if we get enough interest this month!
