Summer Staples: On The Grill
Summer and grilling go hand in hand. I love cooking on the grill on summer nights to avoid making the house too hot. Grilling also brings out a flavor in food that you can’t get anywhere else.
What better way to celebrate the end of summer than with some grilling inspiration? Check out Pea’s and Crayons where I am linking up and check out what everyone else is cooking and eating up!
There isn’t really much variety for breakfast on the grill. But grilled peaches with yogurt and blueberries is so good! A great add-on would be some home-made granola!
I love grilling a main protein that can be mixed together with almost anything. Salads are a huge part of my summer staples. Marinated tofu is very simple and healthy.
This summer I actually created a pizza dough I have thrown on the grill multiple times. It is so healthy but still delicious. You can find the recipe here.
Grilling eggplant on the grill is something I have been doing for a couple of years.
Eggplant makes for a great wrap. I added some kale and avocado slices. Don’t forget to put a sweet potato on the grill to make a complete meal.
Just like eggplant, any type of squash goes great on the grill. Spray with some olive oil before grilling so it doesn’t stick.
You don’t need meat or chicken to have fun grilling and enjoy a delicious meal anytime of the day. Your body will thank you for it!
