Tough Week
It has been a tough week for me, exercise wise. I didn’t realize it would be so hard to get back into my routine after a week-long vacation. I feel like I keep on pushing and there is a wall pushing twice as hard. Oh and I also had the weirdest injury. In yoga class on Wednesday, I jumped into plank and the mat wasn’t there. It was a powerful jump and I bruised the bottom of my big toe. The next day it sort of hurt to walk and was a little bit swollen. Weird right? It’s a lot better now. Moving on.
I know a lot of us are in a place right now where we are winding down from summer fun, busy getting ready for the new school year for ourselves or for our kids. We have busy schedules that motivation is hard to find.
This is where planning comes in. I know for me, I need to plan out my meals and workouts for the week. I really haven’t done much of it this summer. I think I did in the beginning but now it has falling to the wayside and leads to eating what I have around. Then that leads to a lot of snacking. Snacks are always a killer to my healthy eating. I also need to remember to drink lots of water. I am finally getting used to bringing water for me and the girls wherever we go. It’s a good habit to form.
The good thing about back to school is it’s a great to time to get organized. There are a lot of notebooks, planners and folders to help right now. I bought a notebook at Target to help me.
I always have so many things running through my head; errands I need to take care of, blogging ideas, recipe ideas, workouts I see in magazines or online that I want to try. The list goes on and on. I’m pretty sure this notebook will be great for those things and just writing down frustrations or happy moments. We should all write more.
To get motivated to either start working out, keep going or to move on to the next level I like to look through fitness magazines for new workouts. I bought the latest issue of Fitness Rx for the plane ride home from California.
I really love this magazine because it is FULL of information for all stages of fitness instead of ads. Isn’t that the most annoying thing? When at least half of a magazine is ads. I hate it.
I like that they showcase studies and new fitness information. I also loved the crossfit workout, which I need to try soon. Something like that can motivate anyone to reach that level one day. It may be sooner than you think. It is all in your hands. To move forward, you must MOVE!
Let’s all start off this week strong and be so proud of ourselves by the end of it!
