WIAW Food, Fitness and a treadmill interval workout
Happy 4th of July everyone!! I am so excited Jen chose to add fitness to the theme of WIAW! In addition to having a healthy diet, fitness is a big part of my everyday life. I love the energy I get from it and how strong I have become.
Be sure to check out Peas and Crayons to see all the food and fitness links this month. You just might find new workout inspiration!
Before I get to share a workout that I love doing, here is what my day looked like.
I slept in a little out of laziness. Then I finally got my butt up and did Jillian’s Shed & Shred DVD. I must have moved wrong because my back is a little stiff.
Afterwards I took a quick shower, then made my breakfast.
Oats with figs, coconut almond milk, strawberries and homemade hazelnut almond butter (recipe coming tomorrow)!
Then we got ready and headed to the dentist for an appointment at 10 for the girls. We were there for 5 hours! I didn’t think we would be there for so long. I forgot to pack a snack with me. But I don’t know when I would have been able to eat it. I had such a hard time with Amani when it was time for her to get work done. She was really scared and kept trying to get up everytime she heard the suction tool come on. My poor little one. My fear was that she might be traumatized and never wants to go back. But she said she wants an afternoon appointment next time. The dentist was very patient with her and they hugged it out in the end.
I stopped to get the girls something to eat. I got a basic garden salad. Nothing special.
We went to Target after that and I ordered a tallblack iced coffee with 1 pump of hazelnut was definitely needed. I added my own almond milk when I got home. I was very surprised they spelled my name right. Usually they just put Sarah.
I will be ordering my coffee like this now instead of an iced soy latte. I paid exactly $2.00 because I used my target debit card. 5% goes a long way if you spend as much time there as I do.
I paired it with stole a chobani champion honey-nana yogurt from my girls. I topped it with hazelnut almond butter.
Dinner was an egg white omelet. I used frozen southwestern vegetables. In the bag was roasted corn, zucchini, carrots, roasted red bell peppers and soybeans. I added some more sliced zucchini to it. I paired it with Labne and Ezekiel pita bread.
Moving on. Here is the interval treadmill workout I do to push myself. I have so much energy when I’m done with it to last me all day. Use it according to your level of fitness. It is 40 minutes long.

Glad they got your name right – it’s so pretty!
Thank you!!!
Haha I know what you mean about the names; they don’t get mine completely wrong but they always spell it with a C and an I instead of a K/Y combo. Also, your dinner looks lovely!
Thank you! My last name is even worse.
Homemade nut butter is unbeatable! Yumm I will have to try Ezekial pita bread…I’m addicted to Ezekial!:)
The workout sounds awesomely sweaty…I’m writing it down and sticking it in my gym bag!!
It is! I hope you like it!
